Anne Thompson, M.D.

Dr. Thompson graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 2006 and completed the combined MD/MPH with honors at the University of Iowa in 2016.  Prior to entering medical school, she worked with talented and gifted high school students, in cancer research, and as a senior analyst for a healthcare and higher education consulting firm in Washington D.C.  As a medical student, she volunteered with science-outreach programming in elementary schools.  In addition, she has volunteered with children and young adults participating in Special Olympics.

She completed her medical training in general pediatrics at the University of Virginia and completed additional training in adult and pediatric neurology at the University of Virginia and the University of California Los Angeles.

She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and holds current certificates in Basic Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.

Dr. Thompson recently joined Coastal Kids in the spring of 2021. She currently resides in Newport Beach and enjoys walking along the beach with her dog, Stella, traveling, and visiting family in Seal Beach, CA.  She played soccer in college and particularly enjoys caring for athletes.  In addition, she values the opportunity to partner with families who have children with special needs including cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
