Our response to Coronavirus: Important information to our families
We understand that you and your family may have questions and concerns about Covid-19 and Coastal Kids would like to inform you of the necessary steps we are taking to protect the safety and health of our patients, families and our staff.
Precautions
At Coastal Kids, it is our priority to provide safe patient care.
As an added safety precaution, all our providers and staff are required to implement daily temperature checks each morning, prior to seeing patients. Staff are also prepared with additional personal protective equipment, which includes gowns and goggles, as needed, to keep our team members and patients safe during this crisis.
You will notice that at all five Coastal Kids locations, we have increased the frequency of sanitation efforts in each of our waiting rooms and exam rooms. Our cleaning procedures are rigorous and occur multiple times throughout the day. We are consistently sanitizing all waiting rooms and exam rooms with top of the line medical-grade cleaners. We have further encouraged distancing measures with 6 feet separation marks in all the reception areas.
Appointment Availability
To prevent unintended exposure, and until further notice, all visits are by appointment only, with no walk-ins.
The best way to decrease the spread of this virus is to practice social distancing and provide appropriate appointment schedules. Not only do we have separate areas in each of our locations for sick patients and well patients, we have taken the initiative to designate specific appointment types, well visits vs. sick visits, to separate clinic locations to further prevent the virus spread. Our schedules change daily, so please contact your office for more information.
Also, we will attempt to fast track your appointment the best we can. We now allow you to call us once you have arrived in our parking lot to check you in from the car. When we have an exam room ready for you, we will call to notify you and you will be directed to the room for the appointment.
To keep the risk at a minimum, we ask that only one parent or guardian accompany the patient and that all people over the age of 60 stay at home.
Well-Child Appointments
More than ever, it is crucial to address any questions or concerns, and to promote the health and wellness of your child. It is important to stay up to date with their well-child checks, necessary vaccines, and other assessments to assure your child is protected from other illnesses that may be preventable.
Telemedicine Appointments
Coastal Kids is offering Telemedicine, visits completed via audio and video communications, as an option for families/patients that are in need of treatment, or would like to be seen by a Provider for evaluation, but are not comfortable leaving the safety of their home.
